In 2026, we’re changing the tradition: we’ll meet in September!
🤎 The 15th anniversary edition of The Szekler Horse Race awaits riders and equestrian sports enthusiasts on September 11–12, 2026, on Big Cellars Hill in Moacșa.
After many years, the event is moving from its traditional June date to September. This year, the celebration of equestrian traditions returns to its essence: the focus will be on competitions, horses, and the riding community.
🏇 The highlight of the weekend will, of course, be the Szekler Gallop, where the best riders from the local communities will compete to earn the right to represent the region at the National Gallop. The program will also include the Little Knight Race and the Góbé Race, offering young people and amateur riders the opportunity to participate in the competition.
On Saturday, the public is invited to enjoy spectacular races and thrilling competitions.

This anniversary edition will celebrate equestrian sports, traditions, and the spirit of competition.
🐎 In addition to the races, the public will be able to watch demonstrations by groups dedicated to preserving equestrian traditions, which will bring the region’s equestrian culture and historical heritage back into the spotlight.
👉 Registration is now open! Participation in the races remains free, giving every town the opportunity to select its representatives for the most important equestrian event in the Szeklerland.
