4 days

🎼 This autumn, classical music returns to the Béla Bartók Hall at the Székely National Museum in Sfântu Gheorghe.

📅 From October 8 to 11, the Bartók Days return for their second edition, and this year the piano will take center stage. 🎹

Last year, we rediscovered the story that has connected us to Bartók for nearly a century: his visit to Sfântu Gheorghe in 1927 and the concert he gave right here in this hall. This year, we continue that story.

🎶 For four days, Sfântu Gheorghe will bring together diverse musical worlds, talented young musicians, and established artists from the Hungarian music scene, recipients of the Kossuth and Liszt Ferenc Awards. The piano will feature in a variety of contexts, from solo recitals to chamber music, and the program also includes a true rarity: one of Bartók’s string quartet works will receive its world premiere in a special transcription for piano.

🎼 This year’s edition is also part of the preparations for the 2027 centennial. We hope that Bartók’s story—as a composer, pianist, and researcher of musical folklore—linked to Sfântu Gheorghe will remain a living part of the city’s cultural heritage. 🏛️

🎹 In October, we look forward to welcoming everyone who loves the sound of the piano, Bartók’s music, or simply wants to enjoy four days of classical music in a hall whose walls still echo with his music. ✨
