About
🏚 The Household of Bygone Times is the private collection of János Vajna, a passionate collector of old objects. The collection began with objects inherited from his parents and has grown over the years with antiques discovered and purchased at flea markets, as well as objects donated by friends and acquaintances. In this way, many cherished objects from the past have found a new home here, where they continue to be preserved, admired and tell the stories of times gone by.
Housed in an old building, the collection offers a glimpse into a bygone world, with objects that preserve stories and memories of everyday life. Among the exhibits are old furniture, household items, sewing machines, kerosene lamps, radios, personal care items, old books and many other objects that evoke the atmosphere of times gone by. 🍽 🛌🏼 ✒️ 📠 ⏰
👪 For older generations, the collection offers a nostalgic journey and the chance to rediscover familiar objects from their childhood and youth. Younger visitors, too, can discover real “treasures” and learn what everyday objects of the past looked like and how they were once used. 👱👧
The host warmly welcomes visitors and is happy to share stories about the collection and the world of the old days. If you come across an object you do not recognize, don't hesitate to ask! 🗜️🎞️⚒️🪑🔐
