🎨 Retrospective exhibition of artist Margit HIDEG
For Margit Hideg, nature is not only a vital environment but also a source of inspiration and spiritual strength. Through her art, she explores themes such as memory, identity, belonging, roots, and humanity’s connection to nature.
Originally from Gheorgheni, she began her artistic training in Târgu Mureș and continued her studies at the “Ion Andreescu” Institute of Fine Arts in Cluj-Napoca. In 1989, she emigrated to Canada, and she currently lives and works in Canada and Hungary.
Since the 1980s, the artist has worked in cohesive series, using symbols to reflect on personal experiences and society. Her emigration to Canada marked an important turning point in her creative work, bringing themes such as “home,” memory, and identity to the forefront.
🌳 In her recent works, the tree becomes a central motif, symbolizing roots, perseverance, and renewal. Her works bring together organic materials, light, and experimental structures, suggesting the permanence of values and continuous transformation.
