Here, everything happens at a peaceful pace, but we assure you that you will not be bored: between December 13th and 23rd, a Christmas market with a 16-year tradition awaits you, where craftsmen, artisans, merchants, and small local producers offer Santa Claus gifts for sale. On this occasion, the city's Central Square is bathed in light, Christmas songs can be heard from the speakers, and the sweet smell of freshly baked kürtőskalács takes you on a journey from which you will never want to leave. ✨🕯 Lighting the first Advent candle in Sfântu Gheorghe has become one of the city's most important community events. The tradition of giant Advent wreaths began in 2010, and since then, the city has celebrated together every year. This year, the flame of the first candle will be lit on November 30th in the Central Square, where thousands of people are expected to attend a balcony concert. Participants are asked to bring a candle with them, but the organizers also distribute candles on site so that people can take the blessed flame home and keep the message of Advent light in their homes. It is a tradition with deep symbolism, when on the four Sundays preceding the celebration of the birth of the Lord, a candle is lit, thus celebrating the coming of Jesus Christ. We hope that this year, as in previous years, the scouts will be able to bring the flame from Bethlehem - the city of the Lord's birth - to distribute among the participants of the event;

🎁 The Christmas Market in Sfântu Gheorghe (December 13th-23rd, Central Square), a market with a 16-year tradition that brings together all the best of the holiday spirit: alleys in Elisabeta Park bathed in light, Christmas trees, a craft fair with over 80 vendors, street food, stalls with traditional dishes such as kürtőskalács, Christmas-themed workshops for students (e.g., gingerbread decorating), children's drawing contests, music, dance and poetry performances, and the Lord's nativity scene;

💝 Museum Bazaar (December 13th-14th, conference hall of the Székely Mikó National College), a small but heartfelt fair where you can buy handmade gifts for your loved ones, made with love;

🚂 Christmas train decorated for the winter holidays and featuring characters from the Szekler Legendarium animations, with music and good cheer for a tour of the city of Sfântu Gheorghe (December 13th-23rd, departing from the Bod Péter County Library);
