About
🎸 On Thursday, February 6, at 7 pm at the Arcuș Cultural Center, guitarist Costin Soare will give a recital with a full program of Renaissance music, a panorama of the main musical genres dedicated to emblematic instruments of the time: the lute and the vihuela.
Entitled 'Songs, Fancies and Dances', the recital will take you on a musical journey through England, Spain, Italy, Hungary, Italy and France, with works by some of the most important composer-performers of the time: from Shakespeare's contemporary, John Dowland, a lutist at the court of Queen Elizabeth I, to Bálint Bakfark, the Hungarian musician born in Brașov, Orpheus Pannoniae, as the Poles called him; from the legion of vihuela players of the Golden Age of Spanish music, such as Luis Milan, Alonso Mudarra, Luys de Narvaez, to the one nicknamed Il Divino, the Italian Francesco da Milano.
Those interested can buy tickets in advance at the head office (20 lei), on Oltului str. no. 6, between 9 - 15, and for further information call 0267 373 651.
