Children can start riding on a Shetland pony at the age of 3 (and up until age 7-8, or maximum 30 kg).
Horse riding can really begin at the age of 8-9, when the child has enough muscle strength and the ability to concentrate for a longer time. Beginners would start their lesson with the horse being on the lead, learning how to sit correctly and doing exercises that help finding their balance on horseback.
Experienced riders (who can walk, trot and canter) can choose to hack out with a local guide to the fields and woods around the village. There are treks of 1-2 hours, or day rides that include a picnic. The scenery is worthy in every season. On special request we can organize longer rides with overnight stops at guesthouses in the neighboring villages.
