About

You'll find the renovated iron smelter of Bodvaj in the valley of the Fenyves stream, just past Bățanii Mici. The place is mainly famous for the fact that it was here that Áron Gábor cast the first cannons of the self-defence struggle of Covasna County during the 1848-49 War of Independence.

Memorial of Véczer

At the crossroads of Căpeni stands this solid Szekler obelisk, a reminder of heroic deeds. The plain between Căpeni-Augustin-Baraolt-Racoșul de Sus was the site of several battles during the 1848-49 War of Independence. The Szeklers who died in self-defence are buried in mass graves at the site of the so-called battles of Véczer on 9 and 13 December 1848.
