His Excellency József Potsa

As the "father of the Szekler people of Covasna County", he served the economic and cultural development of the county for 26 years. József Hatolykai Potsa, born in 1836, took over as government commissioner of Covasna County on 27 June 1877, was also the vicar-general of the Catholic Church, head of the supervisory committee of the Székely National Museum and the Savings Bank of Covasna County, and honorary president of several institutions. He is considered one of the pioneers of the transformation of Székely Mikó College into a high school and the development of the Catholic high school in Târgu Secuiesc into a college. He has also made an unparalleled contribution to preventing the impoverishment of the region by working for the establishment of the Szekler Weaving Factory. In recognition of his merits, Emperor Franz Joseph appointed him a "de facto internal councillor" in 1896, and he was promoted to the rank of private secret councillor in 1896 and to chamberlain in 1898.

After Péter Apor, he was the longest-serving public dignitary in the history of the administration of Covasna County. His popularity and recognition far exceeded that of his predecessors and those who came after him. Since July 2022, his memory has been commemorated by a bronze bust - the work of Mihály Vargha, a sculptor from Sfântu Gheorghe - in the main square of Hătuica in Upper Covasna County.
