Information about the border closure
The Romanian government closed its borders on 22th of March from 10 pm, as part of the latest decisions to prevent the spreading of the coronavirus. This means that in the future only Romanian citizens will be allowed to enter in Romania. You can read the most important information about the border closure here.
An exception to this measure, are those who transit through a designated transit area. Family members of Romanian citizens, represent also an exception along with; family members of EU or Swiss, who are residents in Romania; holders of a long-term residence permit; those arriving on official business and diplomats.
Members of foreign missions, representatives of international organizations, soldiers and delegates of humanitarian organizations may also enter the country; visitors that have compelling reasons to enter the country (medical or family related); and people in need of international protection or other humanitarian aid.
