Lăcăuți peak

About

Lăcăuți peak is the highest point of Covasna County. The easiest way to reach the peak is from Comandău, the highest settlement in the county. To the forest house, in the area called “Máté Pál”, you can also go by car and from there you should follow the blue dot sign to reach the top. During the medium difficulty tour, 3-4 hours, you are going to have a spectacular panoramic view of the area. Lăcăuți peak is 1777 meters high, from where in clear weather, thanks to the position of the mountain, you can see all the way to the Făgăraș Mountains. There is also a meteorological station on the peak, which tracks the weather changes to this day. On the route, near the top, there is a mountain refuge, which was built and maintained by Salvamont Covasna, and which can be called in case of an emergency at the phone number displayed there.
