Living in Sfântu Gheorghe and discovering it as a tourist

To be honest, I have never truly believed that I would live in Sfântu Gheorghe for a longer period. That is why I could never go around the town like a local. I've always seen myself and my time here more as a tourist living here. I explore the town, as if I had never been here before.

I enjoy every little thing I see from time to time. Thus, every morning on my way to work I admire the sunshine in the Elisabeth Park, or as I walk through the carefully restored main square. It replenishes me to look through the town’s ever-bustling centre in the evenings, simply to stare at people talking on the cosy terraces, or to sit down occasionally for a chitchat with a bottle of wine. To go to a show at the Tamási Áron or the Andrei Mureșanu Theatre, or to watch a good movie in the newly built cinema.

In Sfântu Gheorghe you can find everything you need, whether you’re looking for quality restaurants or local specialities, cosy and unique pubs, or a lively and diverse cultural life. But if you just need peace and quiet, and want to relax and unwind, this town is perfect for that, as well.

I’ve been living here for two years, and now I feel that I couldn’t break away. This place has become my home, and I encourage everyone to visit it!
