The Dancing “Háromszék”

The Dancing “Háromszék”

In the three decades since its foundation, it has grown into one of the best dance ensembles in the Carpathian Basin. In fact, if it is true that culture and sport are the best ambassadors of a city's reputation, then the “Háromszék Folk-Dance Ensemble” is definitely one of the best ambassadors of the region.
Starting from the “ruins” of the ensemble called “Vadrózsák” in 1990, it has developed from scratch, under the leadership of Gyula Levente Deák, who died painfully early in 2022, and became an ensemble that created a school, and the shows of which are almost always sold-out. Where the members of the dance troupe are not only good dancers, but also true artists, who are not only technically great performers but also put their heart into what they perform. And the ensemble's music group, “Heveder”, is a distinct concept in its own genre.
The ensemble, led by its new director, Endre Virág, is now a favourite material for prestigious directors and choreographers, and its performances are a must-see for visitors of Covasna County. Just like the folk dance event (táncház), which the company relaunched in Sfântu Gheorghe twenty years ago, and which has now become a popular entertainment for all the people - just like it was in the days of our ancestors.
