Polixenia Culinary Weekend

We’re welcoming October with a culinary weekend here at Polixenia Culinary Estate. From Friday to Sunday, we invite you to discover the flavours of Transylvania, reimagined for the 21st century and accompanied by excellent sparkling wines. There will also be a cheese tasting, a visit to the blacksmith’s workshop and a strudel-making workshop!

Here is the menu and programme we have prepared for you at the most important historic landmark of Erdővidék and the only gastronomy-focused castle in Transylvania:

FRIDAY, October 2 (arrival from 3 PM, dinner from 7 PM)
 Sparkling wine reception
Starter – eggplant hummus and pastrami
Main course – Mangalica pork or roast duck
Dessert – cream-filled pancakes

Friza (sparkling wine from Carastelec Sparkling Winery), water, coffee

SATURDAY, October 3

Breakfast:
Classic eggs, Smart Eggs and Caviar Eggs (trout roe and milt)

Cheese tasting
Blacksmith’s workshop visit

Lunch:
Tarragon potato soup
Homemade chicken paprikash

Strudel-making workshop

Dinner:

Mici, kebab, chicken, lamb, Mangalica pork
Strudel
