Lăcăuți peak is the highest point of Covasna County. The easiest way to reach the peak is from Comandău, the highest settlement in the county. To the forest house in the area called “Máté Pál” we can also go by car and from there we follow the blue dot sign to reach the top.
During the medium difficulty tour, 3-4 hours, we will have an almost continuous panorama. Lăcăuți peak is 1777 meters high and in clear weather, thanks to the position of the mountain, you can see all the way to the Făgăraș Mountains as well. There is also a meteorological station on the peak, which tracks the weather changes to this day.
At the starting point to the top there is a safehouse, that is constantly inspected and maintained by Salvamont Covasna. In case of problems, Salvamont Covasna can be called on the telephone number you find in the safehouse.
