“In the last period, the centre has undergone through a complete interior renovation" - interview with Zsolt Szőke, manager of the Hătuica Bath Centre

As the next stop of our Visit Covasna Safe place campaign we visited the Hătuica Bath Centre. The centre built in 1970, on the place of the old folk bath, reopened its gates in 2013. About the specialities of the place and available services we talked with Zsolt Szőke, manager of the centre.

Could you tell us a little bit about the pension and bath centre?
The bath centre and pension is located in Hătuica, which belongs to Catalina. On the ground floor of the two floors building, there is a small treatment center - there is bath treatment with mineral water in bathtubs, but you can also use a mofet, a therapeutic massage, a sauna and electrotherapy. At the same time, upstairs we have six rooms equipped with private bathrooms, satellite TVs and refrigerators. One room is for disabled persons. Our guests can also use a fully equipped kitchen .

How can tourists visiting the place spend their free time?
Our guests mainly come for treatment, but between treatments or on weekends they can visit the nearby attractions, such as the Mikes Castle in Zăbala, The Csángó people Ethnographic Museum, the Saint Imre Church in Ghelința, the Târgu Secuiesc Museum or try to decorate gingerbread, they can even visit the cooper in Harale. In case you have more time, I recommend to visit more distant sights, such as Saint Anne Lake and its surroundings.

Why can tourists feel safe here? What kind of regulations did you introduce?
Our accommodation has also received the Visit Covasna Safe Place certificate, so we comply with government regulations: we have placed hand sanitizers, provide disposable shoe covers when entering the building, designate distance zones, measure fever for visitors, and disinfect equipment in accordance with regulations, and actually everything that guests come in contact with. At the same time, we place great emphasis on disinfecting the rooms, so in addition to the required cleaning agents, we also use an ozone-producing UV lamp.

What do you think about the future?
I definitely think positively about the future. Recently, the center has undergone through  a complete interior renovation, from painting the interiors to replacing the tubs. Thanks to this, and the fact that people want to go outside, I am confident that a large number of guests will come to us as well.
